Civil Construction

Premium Cycle track phase 2,3,4

These works were for the construction of phase 2,3,4 of Premium Cycle Route, which will run from Portbello Harbour along the Grand and Royal Canals and will connect to the S2S Cycleroute at Fairview Park. This section of works involves the construction of high quality
segregated cycletrack between Baggot Street Bridge (Macartney Bridge) and Lower GrandCanal Street.

The cycle track is on existing carriageway adjacent to the Grand Canal on Herbert Place, Warrington Place and Clanwilliam Place. The project involved Kerb work, Drainage, high quality surfacing, utility ducting. The project required significant amounts of traffic / pedestrian management.

Torquay Road Main Drainage

Scope of Works
This works consists of 962 metres of 450mm, 375mm and 200mm storm water drainage. The length of Torquay road is circa 1.1km and 6.7m wide. An existing foul sewer runs the length of the works and all houses on Torquay road are connected to it. Due to the nature of the fall of the road, deep drainage is required to maintain falls downstream. Gully connections are required at every 45 metres along the length of the works. The existing drainage is diverted into the new drainage on completion of the same. Defective sections of carriageway are to be reinstated, also the existing bituminous footpath is to be broke up and replaced with a concrete footpath.
